Duration
Ground-up custom build

A ground-up custom mountain home in the Colorado high country — timber-frame accents over stone, a two-story stacked-stone fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, a custom iron-and-wood staircase, and a snowmelt paver driveway built to shed a mountain winter.

Building at altitude is a different discipline. Deep snow loads, freeze-thaw, and a short season mean the structure, the drainage, and the details all have to be right the first time. We built this home from the framing up — carrying heavy timbers, wrapping the exterior in stone and stucco, and finishing the inside to a mountain-lodge standard.

The Exterior

Timber, stone, and stucco

The elevation blends heavy timber brackets, natural stone, and warm stucco under a steep snow-shedding roof — a home that belongs on its mountain site and stands up to the weather that comes with it.

The Great Room

A two-story stone fireplace

The heart of the home is a soaring great room with a floor-to-ceiling stacked-stone fireplace, exposed timber, wide-plank hardwood, and tall arched windows framing the mountains.

The Stair

A custom iron-and-wood staircase

A custom staircase with heavy wood posts, a timber-capped rail, and hand-detailed iron balusters climbs to the loft — built and finished on site to match the home’s rugged, crafted character.

The Kitchen

A mountain gourmet kitchen

The kitchen pairs knotty-alder cabinetry with dark stone counters, a gas cooktop island, and a walk-in pantry — a warm, hard-working space at the center of the home.

Built for Winter

A snowmelt paver driveway

Before the pavers went down, we laid a full radiant snowmelt system in the driveway and entry — so the approach stays clear and safe through the heaviest mountain snows, with no plowing and no ice.

The Setting

A true mountain getaway

Perched above the valley with long views and custom finishes throughout, the finished home is exactly what a mountain retreat should be — built to last and made to enjoy.
